How does Reclast work?
It works by slowing the breakdown of bone and keeping bones strong. It also helps to reduce the risk of broken bones (fractures). This medication belongs to a class of drugs known as bisphosphonates. Another zoledronic acid product is used to treat bone problems that may occur with cancer.
Who should not take Reclast?
You should not take Zolendronic acid if you are pregnant, breast feeding, have kidney problems, or have low blood calcium.
Does Reclast cause weight gain?

The FDA warning says that kidney failure is a rare but serious complication for at-risk patients taking Reclast. The drug was approved in April 2007. Two dozen cases of kidney impairment or failure, including five deaths, were reported in a safety review published in January 2009.
