I have owned my 2002 Super Duty 7.3 for 15 years and this sensor is the kryptonite of this engine. They symptoms always start the same, dying at idle then while driving. Simple enough to replace with a 10mm socket and 20 min of free time. There’s tons of videos on youtube on how to do it so I wont get into that.
Can a Ford Excursion work with a camshaft sensor?
