Why is my pool filter blowing out debris?
It could be a clogged pump basket, clogged impeller, clogged pipe or clogged skimmer. It could also be a closed or broken valve before the pump. Or, the pump may have an air leak, and is drawing in more air than water, which will also reduce the filter pressure (and filtration).
Why do I have particles in my pool?
Those particles usually include stuff like bacteria, viruses, algae spores, and other microscopic debris. Even though it’s your pool filter’s job to filter this junk out, if the particles are microscopic, they can stay suspended in the water for a long time.
How many return jets should a pool have?

What PSI should my pool filter be at?
On average, a pool filter cartridge’s pressure reading, in PSI on the filter gauge, should read between 8 – 15 PSI. If you are experiencing an 8-10 PSI increase in pressure, somewhere up around 25-30 PSI or higher, this means that it is time for you to clean your filter!
Can pool filters get clogged?

Why is my pool jets blowing dirty water?
Been spending every day for the last two weeks getting the pool sparkly. When I vacuum, I have been noticing dirty water coming back out of the jets. It dosnt happen during normal run time. I back wash and it stops for a bit, then starts again.
Why does dirt come back into the pool?

It could be something as simple as the filter needing to be backwashed. When the filter is totally clogged, it can “push” through dirt it would otherwise capture. if i manually vacuum using the rinse setting on my sand filter i get a slow release of dirt coming back through the jets. The “rinse” position is not for vacuuming.
